By Sacha Pisani31 May 2026

For much of the season, the NPL Capital Football title race has felt open, but that is slowly starting to change.
Canberra Croatia strengthened their grip on top spot over the weekend, producing another statement performance to move three points clear at the summit while still holding a game in hand.
Four unanswered goals underlined their authority.

Second-placed Tigers FC are now three points adrift, while the gap to third has stretched to six.
Queanbeyan City ensured they remained within striking distance after a dominant 4-0 victory over O'Connor Knights.
The result consolidated third position and kept Queanbeyan firmly in the finals conversation as the leading pack begins to separate itself from the rest of the competition.
But the biggest story of the round came elsewhere.
Canberra Juventus delivered arguably the upset of the season, dismantling Tuggeranong United 5-0.
Few would have predicted such a one-sided contest between two sides that began the weekend level on points, but Juventus produced one of their most complete performances of the campaign.
Luca Macor, Nicholas Subasic, Thomas Cosentini, Nicholas Dahl and Zachary Barbatano all got on the scoresheet as Juventus sent a message to the rest of the league.
The emphatic victory moved them level with Tuggeranong on 18 points and reignited their push towards the top four.
Elsewhere, Canberra Olympic defeated 10-man Brindabella Blues 3-0 and continued their climb up the ladder.
The result leaves Brindabella second from bottom and searching for answers, while Olympic continue to build momentum.
