Lalor United Sloga have appointed Darren Duffy as head coach for 2027, securing the services of a coach whose remarkable recent record includes four consecutive promotions.
Duffy arrives at Lalor in Victoria’s State League 1 North-West with a reputation for transforming clubs, having overseen Bayside Argonauts' extraordinary rise through the Victorian football pyramid between 2022 and 2025.
His recent coaching success also includes a stint at Geelong SC in 2026, while his record features four consecutive reserve-team titles across the 2022–2026 period.
Now, Duffy has been entrusted with leading the next phase of Lalor United's development, with the ambitious club looking to build towards a brighter future.
“I'm very excited and honoured to have signed for Lalor Sloga. It's a club I've kept an eye on for the last few years,” Duffy said.
“When we sat down to talk, I was impressed with the club's vision for the future. I feel it's a sleeping giant.
“I'm looking forward to getting started, working with the players, the club and fulfilling that vision together.”
For Lalor United, the appointment brings a coach accustomed to climbing divisions and delivering success. For Duffy, it represents another opportunity to turn ambition into results.
