Nunawading make statement with highly-rated coaching appointment
Nunawading City have turned to Melbourne City's academy ranks to appoint Lewis Potter as their new head coach ahead of the 2027 VPL2 season.
Potter arrives at Nunawading following his stint in charge of Melbourne City's Under-23s, bringing 16 years of coaching experience across grassroots football, the National Premier Leagues and professional academy environments.
The appointment represents a new challenge for the A Diploma-qualified coach, who will make the transition from developing emerging talent within an A-League academy to leading a senior side in Victoria's third tier.

Potter has built his coaching career around player development and creating pathways for young footballers, with his experience at Melbourne City providing a strong foundation for his latest role.
He will now look to translate that background into the senior environment at Nunawading, where building a competitive squad and establishing a clear playing identity will be among his priorities.
For Nunawading, the appointment brings a coach with professional academy experience into the VPL2 competition as the club prepare for the 2027 campaign.
