Football Victoria hands down extraordinary 10-year suspension
Football Victoria (FV) has suspended Doncaster Rovers parent Peter Kyriakou for 10 years following a Tribunal hearing into an incident arising from a Mixed East Under-15 A fixture on May 17.
Kyriakou was charged with Misconduct Offence MP7H (serious offence) relating to violence towards a referee wearing a green armband or junior match official and/or their family or property.
Under Football Victoria's 2026 Grievance and Disciplinary Regulations, the offence carries a recommended penalty of a 10-year suspension for individuals aged 18 or over.
After considering video footage, submissions from Kyriakou - a former Doncaster Rovers committee member, and other material before it, the Tribunal found no reason to reduce the prescribed sanction and imposed the full 10-year suspension.
Doncaster Rovers also appeared before the Tribunal after being charged with Misconduct Offence MP5C – Failing to control Club Associate(s).
The Tribunal found the club had not appointed its own marshal and said this contributed to the conduct of its associates after a number of Doncaster supporters entered the pitch during the melee. The club was fined 10 penalty units, equivalent to $1,100.
The determinations were handed down following the Tribunal hearing on June 2 in relation to the incident on May 17.
