Blacktown City captain and all-time leading goalscorer Travis Major has joined NPL NSW rivals St George FC for 2027, bringing an end to an extraordinary chapter at one of the competition's most successful clubs.
The veteran striker, who scored 12 goals for Blacktown in 2026, becomes a major acquisition for a St George side that narrowly avoided relegation this season.
The Saints finished 15th in NPL NSW before preserving their top-flight status through a relegation playoff against Northern Tigers.
Now, they have turned to one of the competition's most recognisable figures as they look to rebuild ahead of 2027.
Major's association with Blacktown stretches back more than 15 years, establishing himself as a club great, prolific goalscorer and long-serving captain under Mark Crittenden.
He was part of Blacktown's 2014 NPL NSW Championship-winning side and remained a formidable presence in the competition despite professional spells in Hong Kong and India.
His return from India in 2022 was particularly memorable, scoring a hat-trick in his first match back for Blacktown against Northbridge Bulls.
Major continued to deliver in 2026, finishing the campaign with 12 goals to underline his enduring value to the club.
His departure leaves Blacktown without a player who has been central to their identity for much of the past decade, while handing St George a proven goalscorer and experienced leader.
