After defying the odds in the A-League, Warren Moon is back at a familiar club
By Sacha Pisani10 June 2026

After an incredible stint in the A-League, Warren Moon is back in NPL QLD and at a familiar stomping ground.
Moon makes his way to league-leading Peninsula Power as Technical Advisor, having previously been with the club as a player and coach between 2010-14.
It comes after Moon departed Central Coast Mariners following the 2025-26 A-League Men campaign to be with his family in Brisbane.

Many had tipped the Mariners for the wooden spoon amid ownership issues and a squad overhaul. Instead, Woon’s Central Coast only missed out on the finals series by six points.
Now, he returns to his former club “to further strengthen player development pathways, enhance coaching standards, and support the ongoing growth of the club’s football program.”

“I am excited to assist Peninsula Power in an advisory capacity and support Technical Director Pouria Nabi in positioning the club for continued success in the future,” said Moon.
“The club has a strong foundation, and I look forward to contributing to an environment where players, coaches, and teams can reach their full potential.”
Premiers in 2020 and 2021, Peninsula Power president Craig Feuerriegel said, “We are delighted to welcome Warren back to the club and really look forward to his valuable contribution.
“His extensive experience as a Professional Coach and Academy Technical Director will provide strong guidance and expertise for our current and future football programs.”
