APIA’s midfield metronome gets his reward after being crowned NPL NSW’s best

Eddie Caspers has been crowned the 2026 NPL NSW Player of the Year after playing a central role in APIA Leichhardt’s Premiership-winning campaign.

The midfielder was at the heart of Franco Parisi’s side, providing a consistent presence as APIA finished top of the table and progressed to the Grand Final.

Caspers’ influence was also recognised by those closest to him, with his peers voting him the Players’ Player of the Year.

The double recognition caps another impressive campaign for a player whose importance at Lambert Park has grown over several seasons. Caspers was also named APIA’s First Grade Player of the Year in 2024.

His latest honour comes after a season in which APIA secured the NPL NSW Premiership with a round to spare before falling short of the double in a 3-1 Grand Final defeat to Sydney United 58.

After establishing himself as one of APIA’s most important players, Caspers now has the competition’s leading individual honour to go with a Premiership and the recognition of his teammates.
