Six points. Five contenders. One incredible title race

Fremantle City produced one of the results of the NPL WA season, defeating league leaders Perth RedStar 3-0 to breathe fresh life into the premiership race.

Scott Miller's side claimed a fourth win in five matches thanks to goals from Cam Edwards, Taj Bingwa and Michael Domfeh, moving into the top four while handing RedStar just their second defeat since round five.

With Olympic Kingsway also winning, just six points now separate the top five sides with four rounds remaining.

Olympic closed to within a point of the summit after a comfortable 3-0 victory over Dianella White Eagles. Rob Harker opened the scoring before Joe Hobson and Aryn Williams completed the job to lift Kingsway into second after Bayswater City's fixture against Sorrento was postponed.

The battle to avoid relegation also tightened dramatically.

Armadale rescued a crucial 2-2 draw against Perth Glory thanks to Leigh Griffiths' dramatic 90th-minute equaliser, keeping them two points clear of the drop zone.

Glory had fought back from behind through Achnaff Sayon and Cristiano Farfan before Griffiths' late intervention denied the youngsters all three points.

Bottom side Balcatta continued their resurgence with a 2-0 victory over Stirling Macedonia, courtesy of a second-half brace from Darius Ghinea.

The win lifted Balcatta level on points with Glory, while Stirling's defeat came on the same day the club announced the departure of senior coach Ago Mujic.

Round 18 began on Friday night with Perth Azzurri and Western Knights sharing an entertaining 3-3 draw.
