First loss, last-minute drama: NPL NSW delivers chaos in round 12

Round 12 of NPL NSW delivered drama across the board, headlined by Wollongong Wolves handing league leaders Sydney United their first defeat of 2026.

Lachlan Scott proved the difference in a 1-0 upset, ending United’s unbeaten run and throwing the title race wide open.

APIA Leichhardt closed to within two points of top spot after a dramatic 2-1 win over St George FC, with Kyle Shaw and Michael Konestabo on target as their unbeaten streak stretched to 11 matches.

Rockdale Ilinden claimed local bragging rights in the round’s marquee derby, defeating St George City FA, while Marconi Stallions flexed their attacking muscle in a commanding 4-1 win over Manly United, inspired by Damian Tsekenis.

Sydney Olympic produced one of the moments of the season, snapping an eight-game losing streak thanks to Giorgos Louca’s stunning 91st-minute winner against UNSW FC.
