Iconic striker Marko Jesic - Marconi’s captain, all-time leading goalscorer and enduring face of the club - looked to have secured all three points with another stunning long-range strike before Levi Sciuriaga rescued APIA late.
Marconi remain top, one point clear, while APIA sit just two points further back in third.
The pressure isn’t easing elsewhere either.
Wollongong Wolves extended their unbeaten run to 12 matches with a composed 2-0 win over St George FC, whose season continues to unravel after a 10th straight defeat.

Richard Shoueiki’s moment of brilliance from long range separated the sides in the coach’s reunion against the reigning premiers he guided to last season’s historic title.
Meanwhile, one of the stories of the campaign continues to grow at UNSW FC.
Twelve months ago, Jyden Harb was dominating Football NSW League Two - scoring 29 goals, winning the Golden Boot and Player of the Year honours in the third tier. Now, the Australian futsal international is flourishing in the state’s premier competition.
