Playford’s reward for a finals statement? A date with the Premiers

Playford City booked a blockbuster semi-final showdown with NPL SA premiers Adelaide City after cruising past FK Beograd 3-0 in the elimination finals.

Brayden French, Isaac Mullen and Daniel Ryan were all on target as Playford produced an emphatic performance to keep their season alive and move one step closer to the decider.

Ryan provided the moment of the match, finding the top corner with a brilliant strike before bringing out his trademark golf-swing celebration. It was his seventh goal of the season and first since June 20.

MetroStars also advanced after shutting out Croydon FC 2-0, with Donatien Niyonkuru delivering the damage.

Niyonkuru struck twice in the space of 20 minutes to end Croydon's campaign and send MetroStars into the next round, where WT Birkalla await.

It leaves four teams standing in the race for the NPL SA Championship.

Premiers Adelaide City will meet Playford City, while WT Birkalla face MetroStars for a place in the Grand Final.
