South Hobart finally blinked. Their rivals missed the chance to pounce

South Hobart's unbeaten start to the NPL Tasmania season is over after the league leaders suffered a shock 1-0 defeat away to seventh-placed South East United.

After going 13 games without defeat, a 76th-minute own goal proved costly as South Hobart finally stumbled in their pursuit of the Premiership.

Second-placed Kingborough Lions United had the opportunity to capitalise but suffered heartbreak of their own in a dramatic 2-1 loss to Ulverstone.

Kingborough led through a 58th-minute opener before the hosts responded just two minutes later.

Bradley Sibanda then struck in the 94th minute to snatch all three points and leave the Lions four points behind South Hobart.

Third-placed Devonport City Strikers took advantage with a commanding 4-1 win over Riverside Olympic. Brody Denehey, Joshua Tollervey, Brady Last and Lachlan Vanneutegem were all on target.

Elsewhere, Glenorchy Knights and Clarence Zebras shared the points in an entertaining 2-2 draw.
