Joel Badger keeps scoring and Kingborough keep chasing the summit

Joel Badger continued his impressive debut season in Tasmania as Kingborough Lions United kept the pressure on league leaders South Hobart.

The Canadian attacker scored his 12th goal of the campaign in a 2-0 win over Glenorchy Knights, moving to within three goals of the Golden Boot lead.

Badger, who joined Kingborough after playing in England’s non-league system, has quickly become an important part of the Lions’ attack during a historic season for the club. Bradley Lakoseljac also scored as the second-placed Lions remained firmly in the Premiership race.

South Hobart responded to their first defeat of 2026 with a 2-0 win over Ulverstone. First-half goals from Jacob Lancaster and Kobe Kemp ensured the league leaders immediately returned to winning ways.

Third-placed Devonport City Strikers also collected three points after Lachlan Vanneutegem scored twice in 16 minutes to secure a 2-0 victory over South East United.

Riverside Olympic left it late against Launceston United, with James Pelletier scoring the decisive goal in the 87th minute of a 1-0 win.

Launceston City completed the round with a 2-1 victory over Clarence Zebras.
