Fremantle City keep finals hopes alive with fast start against Sorrento

Fremantle City strengthened their push for an NPL WA finals berth with a composed 2-0 victory over Sorrento in the competition's lone fixture of the weekend.

The hosts wasted little time taking control, with Nicholas Ambrogio opening the scoring before Isaiah Wingell doubled the advantage inside the opening 27 minutes.

Those early goals proved enough as Fremantle comfortably saw out the contest to collect another valuable three points.

The result leaves Fremantle fifth on the ladder after 18 matches, remaining firmly in the finals race despite sitting nine points behind league leaders Perth RedStar.
