Different year, same standard: South Hobart crowned premiers again

South Hobart have done it again, securing back-to-back NPL Tasmania premierships after setting the pace throughout the 2026 season.

The Tasmanian powerhouse added another piece of silverware to their remarkable collection, continuing a period of sustained success at the top of the state game.

South entered the campaign as reigning champions and once again established themselves as the team to beat, maintaining their grip on top spot to ensure the NPL Tasmania trophy remains at South Hobart Oval.

The triumph is another reminder of the standards that have made South one of Australian state league football’s most successful clubs.

It also came during a season of change, including the mid-season departure of long-time club great Nick Morton, but South continued to find ways to win.

Now they head into the finals series as the premiers once more.
