Three straight Golden Boots and more than 60 goals. Now Pieter Jacobsz has his A-League shot

For three straight seasons, Pieter Jacobsz has done just about everything possible to demand an A-League opportunity and now it has arrived.

Perth Glory have signed the 25-year-old striker on a one-year deal after a remarkable run of three consecutive NPL WA Golden Boots.

Jacobsz won the award with Armadale in 2024 and 2025 before crossing to Perth Azzurri this season and doing it again.

He scored 22 goals from just 18 league appearances for Azzurri, helping them reach the NPL WA Top Four Cup Final and taking his tally beyond 60 goals across the past three seasons.

“It’s been a dream of mine since I was young to play professional football and to do it in my home city makes it that much more special,” Jacobsz said.

“I am more ready than ever to take on this opportunity and plan to make a mark on the A-League from the beginning.”

His rise has been difficult to ignore.

Jacobsz's first Golden Boot came as part of a stunning 2024 campaign with Armadale in which he also won the NPL WA Gold Medal and Goal of the Season.

He backed it up in 2025 before joining Azzurri and immediately becoming the competition’s leading marksman again.

Three Golden Boots puts him alongside some of the most prolific goalscorers in the history of WA’s top state competition.

“Pieter’s record in the NPL WA is simply phenomenal,” Glory Football Director Stan Lazaridis said.

“We’re always monitoring the best local players with a view to bringing them on board and Pieter has certainly been a standout performer here in WA over a sustained period of time.”
