17 games in NPL NSW. Now Sebastian Kukucka is an A-League player

Another young NPL talent has earned his opportunity in the A-League, with Perth Glory signing Sydney Olympic winger Sebastian Kukucka.

The 18-year-old has been added to Glory’s senior squad after impressing during an extended trial in Perth, completing a rapid rise from NPL NSW football into the professional game.

Kukucka made 17 league appearances for Olympic in 2026, scoring four goals and adding an assist during his first full season of senior football.

His performances had already attracted the attention of Glory before the teenager was invited west to prove himself at close quarters.

“We’d been watching Sebastian for some time and when he came in on trial, he confirmed immediately what a good player he is,” Glory Football Director Stan Lazaridis said.

“He’s extremely quick, can play out wide on either side of the pitch, has great delivery with his left foot in particular and even though he’s still young, he’s physically very robust.”

For Kukucka, the move delivers an opportunity he had been working towards at Sydney Olympic.

“It’s been a goal of mine to achieve a move to an A-League side,” he said.

“Being a youngster in the squad, I feel that I’ve got a lot to prove, but I’m confident in my ability as a player to get the job done.”

His signing also continues an emerging recruitment theme at Perth.

Just days earlier, Glory handed three-time NPL WA Golden Boot winner Pieter Jacobsz his first professional contract after more than 60 goals across the past three state-league seasons.

Now they have looked to NPL NSW for one of its emerging young talents.

The profiles could hardly be more different: Jacobsz earning his opportunity at 25 after years of dominating the NPL WA, Kukucka getting his at just 18 after breaking into senior football with Olympic.
