Nine years later, South Hobart have the double again

South Hobart have capped a dominant season by completing their first NPL Tasmania Premiership-Championship double since 2017.

The back-to-back Premiers defeated 10-man Devonport City Strikers 5-1 in the Grand Final, turning an early deficit into an emphatic victory on Saurday.

South trailed 1-0 after 20 minutes before fighting their way back into the contest, with captain Musashi Kokubo producing a performance worthy of the occasion.

The defender scored twice in the space of seven minutes to turn the decider on its head, earning man-of-the-match honours as South took control.

Jacob Lancaster, Rex Maddock and Alfred Hess also found the net as South eventually ran away with the Grand Final.

It completed an impressive response from the Premiers after Devonport had beaten them 3-0 in the major semi-final. South were forced to take the longer route, overcoming Kingborough Lions United 4-2 after extra time to earn another shot at the Strikers.

This time, they made it count.
