The goals are getting ridiculous in NPL NNSW
By Sacha Pisani18 May 2026

Broadmeadow Magic survived a scare, Weston Workers Bears returned to winning ways and the free-kicks across NPL NNSW somehow continue to get better every week.
Round 12 produced another dramatic weekend in Northern NSW, headlined by Broadmeadow’s chaotic 3-2 victory over Edgeworth Eagles in one of the matches of the season.
Goals from Luis Lara Delgado, Adam Sherratt and James Cresnar helped the league leaders edge a frantic contest and maintain their grip on top spot.
“Frantic is probably a good word,” head coach Jim Cresnar said afterwards.

Second-placed Weston Workers Bears bounced back from last week’s disappointing home defeat by overcoming Newcastle Olympic 2-1 in a seesawing battle at Darling Street Oval.
Brock Beveridge delivered the standout moment with a stunning strike that helped settle the contest and keep Weston firmly in touch with the leaders.
Lambton Jaffas were rampant in a commanding 4-0 win over bottom side Kahibah FC, who slumped to a fifth consecutive defeat.
The Jaffas produced some of the goals of the round. Mitchell Rooke scored two brilliant free-kicks, while Pat Bond added a thunderous long-range effort in a dominant attacking display.
Third-placed Belmont Swansea United were held to a 1-1 draw by Valentine FC, while Cooks Hill United continued their surge up the table with a 3-1 win over Maitland FC at Cooks Square Park.
The result made it three consecutive wins for Cooks Hill as they pushed themselves back into finals contention.
At the other end of the ladder, Adamstown Rosebud climbed off the bottom after defeating Charlestown Azzurri FC 2-0 on Saturday.
